Welcome to African Ubuntu Backpackers.
Our backpackers / guesthouse is situated less than 100m from the beach in the Wavecrest area of Jeffreys Bay. It’s a short walk to the paddle-out channel at Supertubes and everything else is in close vicinity. Watching the waves at sunset from the balcony while sipping a cold one is a daily ritual.
The backpackers sleeps 30 people when full, so we are able to maintain a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. There are 2 double rooms and one sea view double room, 1 six sleeper mini-dorm and a 10 sleeper dorm. All linen is provided.

EARLY DEPARTURE FEE 50 % of daily rate for each day/s accommodation cancelled. The above conditions may be relaxed under exceptional circumstances. Please note that rate increases may apply.

Friendly and very laid back atmosphere. I felt safe and the place was amazing. Close to the beach and every evening a fire (to braai or not). The people were very nice and made you feel comfortable.
This hostel is perfect to meet other backpackers and people coming to JBay for surfing. Very relaxed atmosphere, you always find people to hang out with.
The surfing lesson with Gabriel was really suited for us as beginners.
We had a private room with shared kitchen and bathroom, all were quite nice.
Loved the relaxed vibe.
The atmosphere and the friendly people around there made us feel right at home!
Very friendly staff, who explained us everything about the surfing possibilities in Jeffrey’s Bay. The please really has a backpackers / surf vibe. And the price was actually great too :)
Breakfast included was nice. Comfortable beds, dorms are away from the noise.
