Ardmore Ceramic Art Studio Reviews
More info about Ardmore Ceramic Art Studio
Located in the picturesque Caversham Valley in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, the Ardmore Ceramic Art Studio is a celebrated producer of exquisite handmade pottery. The pieces are highly unusual in design and beautifully painted in striking colours and glossy finish. Many of the designs are drawn from the Zulu culture and a great deal of thought and planning goes into each piece before the work begins.
The Ardmore Ceramic Art studio was opened by owner Fée Halsted who, along with her student Bonnie Ntshalintshali were jointly awarded the Standard Bank’s young artist of the year award in 1990. With Fée’s assistance, Bonnie established herself as a top ceramic artist until her death in 1999. In her memory, the Bonnie Ntshalintshali Museum was created and is located on the Caversham Valley premises. For her major contributions towards the arts and education, Fée was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
