Bergville Reviews
Normally stay over in that area for a day or two. Find it very relaxing and enjoyable.
Quite environment
The beauty of nature makes people relax and enjoy.
place with a pool,
Quaint little town.
We loved hiking at the Royal national park.
There are so many places of interest and lovely little restaurants to find.
The beautiful Mountain views and accessibility to surrounding restaurants and activities.
The Royal Natal National Park is beautiful (though some of the roads need to be redone). The Coffee Patch and Bingelela Restaurant were great places to eat.
ATKV Drakensville Resort is my first, hope to visit other interesting places later. Quietness and cleaness of the place, mostly warm swimming pools.
More info about Bergville
Bergville is nestled at the foothills of the Drakensberg and is known as the gateway to the Northern Drakensburg. This scenic route takes you pass the Oliviershoek Pass – an old route connecting the Northern part of South Africa. Surrounded by fantastical peaks in the near distance, the town of Bergville is the main town in the Northern Drakensberg. The town is also the centre for agriculture and trading and holds cattle sales in the third Friday of every month. It is also the ideal place to top and stock-up before heading into the Berg. The town has a number of supermarkets, butcheries, banks and petrol stations.
Bergville was the home of the Ngwaneni tribe, who settled in this area and when the colonizers arrived, a retired sea captain with the name Wales owned the farm, Kleine Waterval, on which the town was built. A trading station was erected on the site in 1897. The name Bergville... Show more
About Guest Houses
For a more down to earth experience there are guest houses. Less expensive than hotels, they offer a more homey environment, as well as more privacy. Converted from a private house it’s a much gentler environment and for those with furry friends, there are also pet friendly options. They are usually well situated with shops and places of interest nearby. Being so small it offers a much more personal and intimate attention to it’s upkeep, leaving you with a more polished and homely experience.
