More info about Clansthal
This unusual name for a town is from German descent as the owner of most of the property was originally from Hanover and named this Kwa-Zulu-Natal town after his first home. He decided to settle forty kilometers to the south of the main city of Durban in this small holiday village that is now known as Clansthal. Situated high on a cliff above the village is the Green Point Light which is also known as the Clansthal Lighthouse, to warn mariners of the world renowned Aliwal Shoal situated five kilometers out to sea. This area is popular among scuba divers worldwide and draws many people to Clansthal. There is accommodation in various forms from bed and breakfast places to a caravan resort in the village. This caravan park fills up in season with holiday makers, divers and fishermen retiring to their caravans after a long day at sea or on the beach. Further down the road... Show more
