The city’s foreshore has become especially attractive in recent years as it has been subjected to a developmental boom since the inauguration of the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in 1999. Originally, the Foreshore was reclaimed from the sea between 1930 and 1940 and extended Cape Town’s inner city by a further 2km; today, it is undoubtedly one of the more popular tourist spots as there are a number of attractions within close proximity of each other.
