Cape Town is home to an embarrassing array of attractions and landmarks for travellers to peruse and explore. The city’s foreshore has become especially attractive in recent years as it has been subjected to a developmental boom since the inauguration of the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in 1999. Originally, the Foreshore was reclaimed from the sea between 1930 and 1940 and extended Cape Town’s inner city by a further 2km; today, it is undoubtedly one of the more popular tourist spots as there are a number of attractions within close proximity of each other.
The most dominant feature of the Foreshore has to be the CTICC; this internationally acclaimed facility has risen in stature over the last 10 years and now hosts a multitude of incredible events from conferences and seminars to plays and art exhibitions not to mention expos of all kinds and even university graduations.
