More info about Fresnaye
Fresnaye
Fresnaye is one of the most expensive luxurious suburbs in Cape Town. Overlooking Table Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, it is situated between Sea Point and the slopes of Lion’s Head mountain, with views all around.
The suburb has large mansions and villas, with some of the finest and most remarkable architectural masterpieces in South Africa. There are many historical houses and further up the mountain on the highest slopes, are magnificent modern houses, engineering marvels built into the mountain with spectacular views.
Fresnaye is not far from Cape Town city centre, but it is fairly quiet and secluded as it is away from the main roads through Sea Point, and tucked away under the mountainside. The suburb has excellent security.
What to Do
As Fresnaye is above Sea Point it has easy access to all the many amenities of this busy area. It is within walking distance of the Sea Point Promenade and Swimming... Show more
About Guest Houses
For a more down to earth experience there are guest houses. Less expensive than hotels, they offer a more homey environment, as well as more privacy. Converted from a private house it’s a much gentler environment and for those with furry friends, there are also pet friendly options. They are usually well situated with shops and places of interest nearby. Being so small it offers a much more personal and intimate attention to it’s upkeep, leaving you with a more polished and homely experience.
