It’s big and it keeps getting bigger. With two upgrades already having been recently completed, further extensions are planned for this monster of a centre in Umhlanga on the KwaZulu-Natal coast. The Gateway Theatre of Shopping is 22ha of retail and entertainment space and one of the largest malls in the world. Here, visitors can enjoy a full day of fun without leaving the centre.
Opened in 2001, the Gateway Theatre of Shopping has over 400 shops with all major chain stores occupying space alongside high-end fashion boutiques, and specialist, home ware and sports stores.
Electric Avenue on the 2nd level provides entertainment for young and old that include arcade games, tenpin bowling, dodgems and go-karting. The Manhattan bar lounge offers late night entertainment with local DJs on the decks.

About Self Catering
Self Catering places can be found from rural to urban areas and can vary in what they offer. They allow plenty freedom and is a great inexpensive way to spend your holiday. They have been widely classified as a “Home away from home”. This is a good option for guests who don’t mind cooking their own food, and are looking for a more independent and flexible form of accommodation. For budget and large families, we would recommend self-catering for a more personalised experience.
