More info about Germiston
Originally laid out to house mine workers in 1887 and named after a Glaswegian farm, Germiston gradually developed into a large city with major industries operating here. The world’s largest precious metals refining and smelting complex is located in Germiston which also boasts the largest lake in the Gauteng Province of South Africa.
Germiston lies on the East Rand, a short distance from its larger cousin Johannesburg and its permanent residents are a good representation of South Africa’s rainbow nation. The city has its own airport for chartered flights and from where various flying schools operate.
For visitors wanting to be stationed outside of Johannesburg, Germiston is quiet enough yet loaded with all conveniences and an excellent road network, to enjoy a restful stay.

About Self Catering
Self Catering places can be found from rural to urban areas and can vary in what they offer. They allow plenty freedom and is a great inexpensive way to spend your holiday. They have been widely classified as a “Home away from home”. This is a good option for guests who don’t mind cooking their own food, and are looking for a more independent and flexible form of accommodation. For budget and large families, we would recommend self-catering for a more personalised experience.
