Known for its large plots and rural nature, this part of Midrand is the fastest growing town in the country. There is a new shopping mall being planned for Glen Austin where all properties are classed as Agricultural Holdings, with none being smaller than 8500 square meters. Glen Austin is midway between Johannesburg and Pretoria and reaching these cities will be even easier with the completion of new and extended highways, the Gautrain in the west and the Grand Central Airport in the south.
Glen Austin area was named after a Voortrekker who inherited this part of the Midrand area in the early 1900s.
