Since its humble beginnings as a small suburb in the south of sunny KwaZulu-Natal, the suburb of Hilton has grown in leaps and bounds. Today, Hilton attracts a wide variety of residents and visitors, all looking for peace and tranquility in a beautiful setting. This quiet residential suburb is perhaps best known for its excellent schools, most notably Hilton College. The exclusive Hilton College opened in 1872 and is rated as one of the best schools in the country. Hilton and many of the other great schools in the area are boarding schools, which gives the town a unique character.
