More info about Knysna Elephant Park
Situated off the main highway between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna, the Knysna Elephant Park is a sanctuary established in 1994 to provide a safe home for rescued and orphaned elephants. The beautiful farm on which it is located is in the forested and scenic part of Harkerville, ideal for these giant pachyderms to roam.
The park offers a number of experiences. On the standard tour, guests are driven to the elephant enclosure for close up encounters and can stay for as long as they wish. Buy a snack bucket to feed the elephants. Other tour options include walking with or riding on the elephants. Both of these tours end with refreshments and snacks. Vastly reduced pricing encourages school groups to visit the park for an educational and fun outing. All tours are overseen by elephant handlers and tour guides to ensure the safety of all.
The docile and gentle elephants in the park are regularly used... Show more
