In 1904, a farmer Samuel Volsteedt purchased the store for his son Samie. Samie was to go on and provide patrons for the next 40 years with his freshly baked breads and farm produce, tobacco rolls, clothing, boiled sweets, snuff, leather whips and other necessities.
