Beautiful small town situated in the Karoo. Very friendly and accomadating people.
Swartberg Pass access.
Galleries and restaurants.
Like visiting the past.
'n Absolute moet besoek juweel in die Karoo.
Great food, shops and Swartberg pass is a must-do.
Everything!
It is a beautiful little town with good coffee, G & T's ( best ever at the local hotel) and friendly people.
The main road setting, restuarants, fleemarket, musuem. Cleanliness, Friendly People.
Lovely little gem of a town. Lots of things to do, eateries and little shops and galleries to visit. At the base of the most spectacular mountain pass in all Africa.
The charm and character of this town impressed me. The Karoo gardens are beautiful and there are interesting local products for sale. I recommend the book shop in Marlene's home.
Peace and quiet; feeling of safety; good clean air. We attended a wonderful photographic course with Louis Botha.
More info about Prince Albert
Situated on the edge of the Karoo – a Khoi word meaning thirst land – and at the base of the spectacular Swartberg Pass, Prince Albert is a tiny hamlet with a staggering amount of national monuments. The residents take great pride in ensuring that their town is always clean and spruced up for visitors and passing travellers. And Prince Albert is earning quite a reputation for excellent food fare at the many restaurants that have popped up over the years.
Prince Albert was founded in 1842 and named after Queen Victoria’s husband.
The mountain scenery surrounding Prince Albert is, in a word, magnificent. The town’s serenity and friendly folks have convinced many a stressed city dweller to pack up and seek a better quality of life in Prince Albert.
For a small town, Prince Albert has much to offer and a weekend getaway is the minimum amount of time necessary to appreciate the area.

About Cottages
Guests escape the noise and bustle of lodges by opting to stay in either fully self-catering or bed and breakfast cottages. Self-catering cottages are a home away from home and come fully equipped with everything guests need. Most self catering cottages also come with a cleaning service, Dstv, and a private patio/entertainment area. Guests who opt for bed and breakfast cottages enjoy their own private patio/entertainment area, luxury amenities, Dstv, and cleaning service. There is often a small kitchenette, if guests wish to do a little cooking, and a relaxing lounge area. Cottages are ideal for families, small groups of friends and couples wishing for a more private retreat.
