Another of the historic wine farms in the Stellenbosch region and dating back to 1692, Spier Wine Estate is probably the most visited. The owners have both preserved the farm’s heritage and provided endless entertainment for visitors. Spier is far more than just a wine tasting experience, it’s a place to eat, drink, relax and have fun.
A German soldier first settled here in the early 1680s and quickly began laying vines, however, it was 9 years later that he was eventually granted the property and by 1700, he had bottled his first wines. They proved to be popular and the farm grew into today’s corporate company managing a highly successful brand.
