Upington Reviews
Great weather. Stayed at Modern Executive Apartment in Schröder street. Beautiful, peaceful and safe place. I enjoyed the friendly people of Upington and the nice restaurants. Mr D also delivered promptly. Will be back again.
Has everything you'd need to top up or get on your way to Namibia, Botswana, or the far west coast. Amazing stat-over options, and amazing people.
Orange river, wine farms and wide open spaces
Nice place, great places to visit and wine tasting lovely.
The scenery.
The people seem friendlier and more polite than the city folks. The atmosphere seems relatively low-stressed.
Great mall and friendly people in Upington.
Upington is one of my favorite towns in South Africa. It is pristine, clean, people are friendly and helpful. Lots of things to do. Plenty accommodation to choose from. A perfect stop-over to and from Namibia.
Good to visit my birth town and see the growth.
More info about Upington
Upington is situated along the banks of the mighty Gariep (or Orange) River, South Africa’s longest river and the natural border between the country’s northern neighbours. When viewed from above, Upington is encircled by a large fertile green strip that runs the length of the river and what has become known as the Green Kalahari.

By 1884 the riffraff had been sent packing and the settlement had grown into a formal town, named after a Prime Minister of the Cape Colony.
Upington is best known for the sweet table grapes grown here, along with dates and a small but thriving wine industry. The town is close to the impressive Augrabies Falls and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, an enormous game reserve shared between South Africa and Botswana... Show more
