Maynardville Open-Air Theatre:The Maynardville Open-Air Theatre is located in the Maynardville Park. It’s best known for putting on annual performances of Shakespeare called Shakespeare In The Park. It is also used to put on other interesting and local plays, ballets and performances. Tickets can conveniently be booked in advance through Computicket. Refreshments are sold during breaks but taking along a picnic basket is a pleasant way to enhance the experience.

Chart Farm:The Chart Farm is home to some of the most exquisite roses in various stages of bloom. It is the only place in the Cape Peninsula where you can select and pick your own roses at a really great price. Visitors can also pick fresh apples, grapes and nectarines. Once you’ve picked all the roses you can manage, feel free to indulge in some yummy cakes and a hot cup of tea at The Terrace Coffee Shop to round off your experience.

Travel

Air:Cape Town International Airport is a mere 22kms away from Wynberg. Without traffic, it takes about 21 minutes to get from one to the other.

Car Rental: Wynberg is a transportation hub. Getting around is simple as there is a variety of public transportation available. If you wish to rent a car, there are car hire agencies in Wynberg.

Taxis/cabs: There are minivan taxis that do trips along the main road. These taxis are very affordable and predominantly used by locals. Cabs can be booked online.

Buses: Buses run every 10 to 20 minutes and they all drive along main road. They are affordable but can be rather slow if you travel during morning and afternoon peak hours.
