The lodge is at once warm and welcoming and consists of eight luxury safari tents and three chalets, all privately situated and comfortably furnished with en-suite facilities.
Breakfast and lunch are served daily outside on the wooden deck, set out under age-old Jackalberry and Leadwood trees, combining African and Western cuisine offering exciting new tastes for the more adventurous as well as for the more conventional preferences. A traditional dinner is served around the campfire in an open-air "Boma", an experience not to be missed.

Reviews
The river lodge is located next to the river, which gives you the opportunity to see game. The drives were very nice, the guide gave great explanations about the game and other nice facts about the park. We have seen quiet some game, most interesting ones lions and a leopard. We stayed in one of the family chalets, nice decorated, good beds and nice view. The people at the lodge are very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and plenty of nice wines to choose from. The Timbavati reserve is a very nice reserve, with lots of games to see. I will definitely go again.
Been in Simbavati River Lodge three times and every time the experience has been absolutely fantastic. There is nothing to complain. Lovely food, very friendly staff, great rangers and nice accommodation. Simply love the place!
Had a wonderful time in Simbavati River Lodge. Highlights of our trip included encountering a LARGE herd of elephants that included elephants of all ages (which almost made me cry out of happiness) and also a private dinner that the lodge and staff had personally set up for us by the pool in celebration of our anniversary. So thoughtful and so kind! Our tent was also so quaint and so cute. Exactly what I had wanted to experience when I requested our travel agency to book us a "luxury tent" in Africa. Definitely a place for us to come back to!
Excellent, unexpected. Really nice location, great people working there, very good service from the moment you arrive to when you depart. Very good game viewing. Rustic by luxury tents. Really worth visiting.
This place is awesome. The rooms are very nice, the main lodge is a great place to relax, and the staff is very helpful. A herd of 30 elephants walked right up to us while we were eating breakfast one morning, so cool! The highlight of the stay was our guide, Mbongeni, he was so friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. Highly recommended!
I am in my 80's and if I live to 100 or more I doubt if I will ever have an experience like my trip to Simbavati River Lodge..I have been many awesome places in my life but this place has to be in the top few!!! The guide (Kruger) and the tracker ( Vincent) were beyond the beyond. I saw not only the big 5 but at least 5 more big ones, Many mid ones and even some small ones,, This experience was more than super. I hope that anyone who is interested in this outstanding lodge has the same luck, good fortune, blessings or whatever you might call this amazing time that I experienced.. Many thanks to the staff for their input to my time at the reserve..Wonder if Robert's group(recent review)saw the same elephants that came to lunch during my days..Go if you are able.. Make whatever plans are possible but do not miss the chance to see and experience a safari in this area.
This was by far one of the best safari experiences I've had. Every game drive was filled with excitement and an abundance of game. The facilities were amazing and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Fabulous
The staff at Simbavati was wonderful, accommodating your every need. Our guide, Kruger and tracker, Hemet were top notch. The game drives were incredible. We saw the big 5 as well as many other animals. Good food. Loved having the elephants and warthogs wander near our tent during our down time. The Landrover was super comfortable for the game drives.
The staff was super nice. Loved the warmth and attention. Kruger our guide was great and very well informed. The outdoor shower was a delight.
