Excellent!!
Friendly staff, amazing food. We enjoyed our stay
What a great relaxing experience. The hosts were exceptional, food and accommodation was good. Can really recommend this place for a quick breakaway.
AWESOME STAFF, GOOD FOOD, COMFY BEDS, YOU COULD NOT WISH FOR MORE AS A BASE CAMP TO EXPLORE THE KRUGER AND SURROUNDS.
I was born in South Africa and it was my first trip back after 20 years of living elsewhere. To call this lodge accommodation is insulting. It felt like home.
From arrival my travel buddies and I were whisked off on our first safari after a delicious lunch to return to a traditional braai, absolute bliss. It is communal dining around a fire pit every night with the menu changing to keep things different and the chef Stephanie cooked up a storm each day.
Food aside, Leanne, Curteis and Daniel made every moment feel amazing. From drinks at the bar late at night, to ensuring we maximized our time and experience in the safaris - it was incredible. They even organised an anniversary lunch on the sunset deck for two of our travelers.
I got a hug from all three as we departed and I have to say I am homesick for this lodge. I am returning with my family and will 100% book this lodge as my home for my duration of my next stay.
Thank you Thornhill for memories I will cherish forever.
Cannot recommend Thornhill enough. We stayed for several nights and were treated to some of the best hospitality by all staff.
The meals are amazing and homely which is exactly what we felt like while travelling. Sitting at a table with other guests like a family is a nice way to interact and meet new people, especially the Boma which we had twice.
Staff are incredibly helpful and assist wherever possible, ensuring guests know what's happening each day in terms of safaris or tours.
Rooms are spacious and well maintained, while the sunset deck is an amazing place to watch the sun go down with a drink and watch the sugar babies come out to play.
We were lucky enough to see a number of animals right outside our cabin door including monkeys and warthogs, with giraffe and ostrich not too far away either.
Services were excellent, food were good and overall lodge atmosphere was also good.
However, fans in the house we stayed were not strong enough to keep the room cooling. No slippers in the room. We also expect a real afternoon tea when we receive email from the property asking us to join, but it turned out to be just a snack and normal self-service tea.
QUIT SEARCHING! That's the best advice I could give... you get a "camp" feel, with all of the nice-i-ties you are hoping for. Number one asset: wonderful staff. AMAZING. Cooks, maids, lecturers, drivers, caretakers, groundskeepers, guides - all were fabulous people. The owner works just as hard as the housekeepers to make sure you are 100% taken care of. GREAT food. GREAT advice from them on how to plan your day. They are not expensive, and are truly gratified for tips... but I never felt like they were "in it" for the money. These people love nature, love meeting and hosting folks, and are 100% dedicated to you having the adventure of a lifetime - which my family of four did. Best vacation experience ever by a mile, and we have been on a bunch of them. Loved it - big time. Cannot wait to tell everyone! Thanks

Hoedspruit Reviews
Beautiful and Clean, pity a place like Mali Mali can upset a persons Holiday... an event that was meant to be legendary! Mali Mali is not as per there website... they manipulate the internet!
The nature.
Morokologa game reserve, we spend our Christmas at the camp and we had a beautiful game drive and morning walks with my grandmother. Played games and reconnected as a family.
Most of Gold cabins- the weather - the sound of the birds-
Since we have family and old colleagues in Hoedspruit we enjoy everything. Love going to Hoedspruit for a weekend break away.
The quietness.
It’s a beautiful town which is easily accessible and has all the convenient shopping around the lodges nearby and one is able to do various activities around the area.
Privacy!
The town is very small yet beautiful and neat. It has lots of tourist attractions and good place to visit, just to unwind!
Endangered Species Centre.
