This picturesque farm is situated at the foot of the majestic Swartberg Mountains. In this tranquil and safe unspoiled nature paradise you will experience old world hospitality. Various accommodation options are available in the farm houses (cottages). These fully equipped self catering houses offer accommodation for 2, 4, 6 and 10 persons respectively.

Oudemuragie offers you the luxury choice of five different cottages. All these cottages are fully equipped and each of the kitchens are equipped with all the necessary utensils, microwaves, stoves, fridges, toasters, irons, etc. Definitely all your needs are catered for part of your hosts philosophy to ensure that you can just relax without having to worry about anything. The cottages are also very aptly named in true Klein Karoo style giving each one of them an unique character. One of the reasons why guests on returning to the farm specifically ask for a certain cottage.

Each house is privately situated with its own interesting garden, braai lapas and views which constantly reminds one of what it must have been like in paradise. Meals and or special dishes are available on order and the swimming pool at the Manor is also available to guests. The various hiking trails on the farm meander up the mountainside between huge aloes and across the many perennial mountain streams. The nature lover will enjoy the rare bird and game species, age old rock formations and diverse vegetation. The clear night skies, silence and peacefulness makes a visit to this extraordinarily beautiful and serene farm more than a worthwhile experience.

The Farm offers a wide range of activities besides the usual expected from a establishment like this. You can also rest assured that your hosts, especially your hostess, Maggie Fourie will do everything possible to make sure that you enjoy the farm and its offerings to the utmost. The animals on the farm will obviously also offer any kid the opportunity to experience farm living first hand. Your hostess will also be only to happy to take the kids on her early morning rounds, an experience in itself as all the animals on the farm have names and each one of them has to be greeted in a special way every morning.

The unspoilt nature on the farm has to lead to the establishment of various hiking trails on the farm allowing you to experience some of the most breathtaking views imaginable. These trails are completely safe making it an definite option to keep the children busy as well. In most cases Maggie will accompany you showing you exactly what the farm has to offer. It is also not surprising that a lot of guests visiting the farm find themselves staying a couple of days longer than expected in order to experience the different hiking trails.

It is no wonder that all the accommodation facilities on the farm are fully booked long in advance, for the annual Klein Karoo National Arts Festival. One only has to look at the visitors book to realise the extent of guests experiences on the farm. An absolute bonus is the fact that you can bring your children along and forget about them for the duration of your stay. Amongst others, the farm's resident staffy will take them on an expedition that will remain in the minds of any child, whether they are from the City or rural areas, it doesn't matter. They will soon find themselves helping out on the farm like old hands.

"Heaven on earth".... best way to describe it! Thanks, Maggie for an unforgettable stay on you breathtaking farm. We loved the walking trails; the view is sublime! The welcoming freshly baked bread was outstanding. If you love nature and peace, the 40 minutes' drive to Oudtshoorn to attend the KKNK was absolutely worth it! Truth be told I skipped shows to enjoy the farm!

We always have a great stay at your lovely houses. We had a lot of fun and the mountain pools were to die for. We will definitely come back there. And we already told our friends from Germany about you. Lots of love Maggie and Peter from Sharklady.
