The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is clean and well located within the property. The gardens are well maintained and the rooms are spacious. Some of the bathrooms could do with an update but they're all functional. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. They're not close to any shops though
The reception staff were very friendly and accommodating. From a South African point of view, the lodge and buildings remind me of a typical Bushveld farm stay and offers more than what is visible on the photos. We bought a braai pack in Luderitz Spar the morning and make our own braai in the Lapa. They Lodge provided us with a extra pot. A buffet option was served at R250 per head. The main building offers a relaxing sitting room, bar, dining room and fire places. The accommodation was also comfortable. A memorable stay indeed.
Our stay at Hammerstein Lodge was wonderful. The only problem was that the GPS took us to the town of Maltehoë which is 100 km gravel road from there. When we arrived at Hammerstein Lodge Mathews welcomed us with a smile and he really went out of his way to let us feel welcome, well done Mathews. Anton also made Saturday night 24 February a night to remember by playing our type of music and entertain us in the bar area. Hammerstein Lodge is for sure one of my stops in Namibia when visiting again.
It is a basic room with bed , shower , stove and a fridge with no frills . The shower was terrible in the unit we stayed. The cheetah and leopard show is by walk. So, if you are from SA or any african country, it is not worth it as you would have seen many before. Otherwise, a utilitarian unit in that bush. If you dont have a 4x4 vehicle, dont ever think of staying there. It takes 3 hours from Maltahohe to reach the unit by sedan car.Wifi only in reception area
