Reviews
The lodge is delightfully tucked away in pure nature. The cottages and rooms were beautifully decorated and in pristine condition. The staff were so friendly and catered to all our needs which included catering to vegan and vegetarian dietary needs. We had an amazing stay. The road to the lodge is a bit of a stretch on a gravel road but it is well worth it if you wish to be in a beautiful Natural environment. John, Monica and the rest of the staff made our stay something to remember.
Blyde River Wilderness Lodge was definitely a highlight on our trip. We only had a two day stay, and we all would definitely return for a longer stay sometime in the future. The friendly staff, the grounds with free-roaming animals, the peaceful nature surroundings, the modern African inspired rooms, all deserves a 5 star rating. We especially want to thank John for being a wonderful, accommodating host, who catered to our various dietary requirements (vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerant, etc, ), with delicious three course meals of a very high standard. Fantastic breakfast spread as well! Much appreciated!
Your facility is so beautiful, we truly enjoyed our stay there.
Stayed for 2 nights and loved the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. There are manicured lawns with trees, a beautiful swimming pool and loungers. Nice view of the river from the deck both at the boma and at the restaurant. The river houses hippos and crocodiles but we didn't see them. We stayed in the owl house which was self-catering. The beds were comfortable with luxurious linens. The staff were really great and clearly knew their stuff. We got our car cleaned on arrival which was a nice touch.
We had a lovely stay here. The mini apartment was comfortable and set in beautiful grounds. The staff were really nice and very friendly. It is close to Kruger Park and Hoedspruit Airport so we did a mini tour entering through Phalaborwa, staying in letaba and out through Orpen back to the hotel. We got to see the landscape change from thick bush land to open plains, it was amazing. The bar area of the resort is like a living room with a fire and comfortable seats. The menu is fixed but they asked if we had dietary requirements and the food was amazing.
Very lovely and quiet place, stayed in Kimba house and loved every bit of it.
If you can get over the gravel road, this is one of the best places to stay. The accommodation is perfect and so relaxing. Its in the nature reserve, has animals, is quiet and really gives you a sense of being away from the city. The staff and food is on point. Definitely, definitely recommend this place.
A bit hard to drive the last 12 km from main road onto gravel but well worth it. John takes good care of you and the personnel is absolutely accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend this spot. The 3 course dinner has been always lekker and breakfast leaves nothing to complain about!
Great place. Very nice & helpful staff, we had an awesome time.
We stayed here for one night only (sadly) after ten days driving ourselves in Kruger National Park and using rest-camp accommodation.
The setting near the river is beautiful and very well kept.
The dinner in the Lodge reception building was very good with a set menu which the chef changed for us substituting seafood.
As we returned to our room, we couldn't believe our eyes: A Inyala munching on the bush near our door. There are also Giraffe, Ostrich, Zebra and other animals on the property.

Hoedspruit Reviews
Beautiful and Clean, pity a place like Mali Mali can upset a persons Holiday... an event that was meant to be legendary! Mali Mali is not as per there website... they manipulate the internet!
The nature.
Morokologa game reserve, we spend our Christmas at the camp and we had a beautiful game drive and morning walks with my grandmother. Played games and reconnected as a family.
Most of Gold cabins- the weather - the sound of the birds-
Since we have family and old colleagues in Hoedspruit we enjoy everything. Love going to Hoedspruit for a weekend break away.
The quietness.
It’s a beautiful town which is easily accessible and has all the convenient shopping around the lodges nearby and one is able to do various activities around the area.
