The Big Tree House is unique.You are invited to enjoy a memorable holiday in this timber frame double storey home. Self catering, with a magnificent view of the Knysna Heads and Lagoon, the Big Tree House is set amongst tall trees and a beautiful garden - a perfect base from which to enjoy all that Knysna has to offer.
In Room Facilities:Spacious, comfortable and fully furnished, the home sleeps six and comprises of three bright bedrooms on-suite, an open plan sitting/dining room and a fully equipped modern kitchen. French doors open onto a spacious deck which is ideal for entertaining and sipping sundowners whilst viewing the exquisite Knysna sunsets.
The main bedroom has a queen size bed, whilst upstairs there is a queen size bed and two single beds plus a double sleeper couch in the 3rd bedroom. Each bedroom enjoys lagoon views and all are en-suite, two with showers and one with a bath. Linen and towels are provided and are changed on a regular basis.
Area Information:Knysna is surrounded by incredibly beautiful beaches, for walking, for sun-bathing, for swimming or for learning to surf or stand up paddle (SUP). Great fishing from land or from boat in the lagoon or the sea. Canoe any of the magnificent rivers and lakes in the area. Natures beauty is everywhere and walks and hikes guided or self-guided are plentiful both in the forest and along the coastline. This is the number one spot in South Africa for mountain biking and bikes can be hired for guided and self guided mountain biking. Within 40 minutes drive are many animal centers including, Birds of Eden, Monkeyland, Jukani, walk with the Cheetah's at Tenikwa, the Wolf Sanctuary and Radical Raptors for birds of prey and displays of their incredible hunting skills and for children there are endless opportunities to entertain including the water park. International food, local experiences, peace, tranquility, nature and shopping are all on your doorstep.
Property Facilities:The Big Tree House is situated close to central Knysna, Waterfront and Lagoon. Units are serviced regularly with fresh linen and towels.
Attractions:An easy 5 1/2 hour drive down the National Highway (N2) from Cape Town International Airport and the Cape winelands, 2 1/2 hours from Port Elizabeth International Airport and 45 minutes drive from George Airport. Easy roads in good condition and excellent signposting to find your way. For young and old, active or not Knysna is the perfect base to explore the magnificent Garden Route. Wilderness 30 minutes drive, Plettenberg Bay 30 minutes drive, jump from the worlds highest bungy jump 40 minutes away or swim with Sharks at Mossel Bay one hour away. Even the famous ostriches and Cango Caves of Oudtshoorn are a scenic 1 1/2 hour drive from Knysna.
