Amakaya Backpackers - no contact check-in, private rooms, no sharing necessary.
Amakaya is located a 300m walk from Main Street shops and restaurants and 800m from Central Beach, our upstairs dining area and balcony offers magnificent views of the Tsitsikamma mountain range, the lagoon and the bay.
This is a great place to relax after a busy day's activities or for the early risers to watch the sunrise. Our internet station is also located in this area.
Enter the main building through our lounge and bar area. The lounge is equipped with satellite TV.
Wi-fi internet is available anywhere on the premises.
We have a fully equipped kitchen and braai (BBQ) area where you can practice your cooking skills. Complimentary tea/coffee and wi-fi.
Our rooms offer no contact check-in and check-out with no staff on the premises outside our reception hours of Monday-Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm. No bookings accepted after 4.30pm weekdays and weekends.
After making payment you will be sent the gate code and key-box code for your room by SMS (please ensure you provide us with a local number) on your day of arrival, allowing you to access your room without the need of time spent at reception to check in.
When you leave, simply lock the room and leave the key in the key-box.
A vending machine is available in the lounge for any snacks or drinks you may wish to purchase.

Tradouw en-suite family room - Consists of a double bed and bunk beds for 2.
Maximum 4 guests, kitchen area, en-suite bathroom, private entrance and garden, satellite TV, wi-fi, fan. Towels provided.
Outeniqua family room - double bed and 2 bunk beds. Full bathroom, private balcony, valuables safe, TV in room, bar fridge, wi-fi, fan/heater. Towels provided.
Homtini en-suite double room - double bed, bathroom, valuables safe, TV in room, bar fridge, wi-fi, fan/heater. Towels provided.
Montagu twin room - 2 single beds,valuables safe, TV in room, bar fridge, wi-fi, fan/heater. Towels provided. Shared bathroom opposite the room.
Kaaimans twin room - 2 single beds, valuables safe, TV in room, wi-fi, Fan/heater. Towels provided. Shared bathroom.
Rooiberg twin room - 2 single beds, TV in room, wi-fi, fan/heater. Towels provided. Room has bathroom with toilet and wash basin en-suite. Showers are in shared bathroom next door to the room.
Karatara private dorm - sleeps 2 in bunk beds, shared bathroom, TV, wi-fi. Towels provided.
Groot Rivier en-suite dorm - sleeps 4 in single beds, en-suite bathroom, TV, wi-fi, fridge, microwave, kettle, fan. Towels provided.
