Maskam Guest Farm is situated 6 km from N7 on the Cape to Namibia route and 10 km from Vanrhynsdorp Western Cape and it is the perfect location for travellers on the N7, business people in the area, tourists to experience peaceful farm life and a paradise for the botanists.
In Room Facilities:The Vanrhynsdorp accommodation offers 3 two-bedroom cottages as well as 2 studios for couples. All units are fully equipped with DStv, Wi-Fi, coffee- and tea-making facilities and air-conditioner or fan for summer and heater or cosy fireplace for winter. All of these cottages have braai facilities with panoramic views of the surrounding Maskam and Gifberg mountains.
All the kitchens are fully equipped for those that would like self-catering and for those who want to be spoiled, a delicious dinner and full breakfast is served on order.
Area Information:Vanrhynsdorp is in administrative terms part of the Western Cape Province, but geographically, Vanrhynsdorp is part of the Namaqualand Region and is the hub of the flower routes. Vanrhynsdorp is the start of the the vast, semi-desert Nama Karoo, with its typical vegetation of succulents and semi-arid climate.
For a short time every year (after good winter rains, around August to September) the countryside here erupts into a show of colour as spans of wildflowers bloom. Vanrhynsdorp is an ideal base from which the Namaqualand flower areas may be explored.
Property Facilities:The activities on the farm include a swimming pool, mountain climbing, walking routes, bird life, bicycle routes, playground, and trampoline for kids and farm animals. During August and September, the farm is covered with beautiful flowers, 1500 species in total. There is a diversity of flowers, for example, the Nama-Karoo succulents, fynbos in the mountains and rare species of bulbs.
Attractions:Attractions in the area include Gifberg tour, wine tour, Victorian buildings and Kokerboom nursery in Vanrhynsdorp. Day tours could also be done to Nieuwoudtville, Clanwilliam or Strandfontein.
Maskam Guest Farm is the ideal place to unwind and the tranquillity is unbelievable. The magnificent sunsets and galaxy of stars are appreciated by many guests.

It was great!
We enjoyed our stay at Maskam and will return for sure. Breakfast was amazing and the view breathtaking.
Beautiful chalet we had with a stunning view. We had such a relaxed time and the wood supplied for the braai came so handy.

Good location for overnight stop.
Nice quiet rural town.
We were flower hunting and it was a perfect place to do that from. Even though the weather was against us, we still saw lovely flowers.
All surroundings even with little bit of flowers!!
It has a nice new OK mini market for buying groceries and a butcher and bottle store all right at the entrance to the town and two petrol stations. There is a well renowned succulent nursery in town and a nice coffee shop.
It is situated on the knersvlakte with unique biodiversity and incredible succulents and flowers.
I would like to retire in Vanrhynsdorp.
