Snails' End Cottage is a delightful self-catering cottage situated in a quiet street near the beach in Sandbaai, Hermanus. Hermanus, one of South Africa's premier holiday destinations, is situated on the Cape southwest coast on Walker Bay. It is the best land-based whale watching venue in the world, from August to November you can stand on the cliffs and look right down on Southern Right whales sporting in the sea a few metres from the shore.
The Cottage accommodates 2 in the main bedroom plus 2 on a comfortable sleeper couch. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, fridge and microwave. There is a TV and hairdryer, and own braai (barbecue) patio for your enjoyment. The cottage is situated on a quiet street and has its own entrance and off-street parking. Children are welcome to stay. You get a beautiful view of the sea from the bay window in the lounge, and we are very near a lovely beach with safe rock pools. We provide pure cotton bed linen and towels. We allow small dogs at the cottage, but only by prior arrangement. Continental breakfasts can be provided if required. Basic pre-arrival shopping can be done for long distance and overseas guests. We speak English, Afrikaans and Dutch.
The village is about 70 minutes drive from Cape Town, the route takes you on the N2 via Sir Lowry's Pass and Houwhoek Pass over the majestic Hottentots-Holland and Houwhoek mountains; you turn off onto the R43 at Botrivier village. A longer route is the spectacular scenic route along the coast from Gordon's Bay on the R44. The cottage is fully equipped, see our Accommodation page for more details. A wonderful cottage, very cozy and equipped. The only ask would be a small coffee table to put cups on, instead of the floor! Would definitely go again. Thank you.
