Our guest house has a "No under 12" child policy. PLEASE NOTE: NO CHECK IN OR OUT 25th DECEMBER.
We can accommodate up to 24 guests in 3 standard rooms, 2 deluxe rooms, a mountain view studio room in Albertyn Street, and sea facing apartments at Whale Rock Estate.
The downstairs rooms at the guest house each have tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen DSTV, free WI-FI, safety deposit box, over-head fans, wall heaters, pool towels and an en-suite shower room. (Deluxe rooms have fridge, private patio area with braai).
Our upstairs studio room is accessed from a private entrance, and includes a kitchen area with microwave/grill, fridge, kettle & toaster, bathroom with shower& bath, full DSTV, WI-Fi, & air con for those hot summer nights. The private deck is spacious with 2 sun-loungers, an undercover seating area, & gas braai.
Breakfast at the Guest House boasts fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast, egg & bacon and a variety of homemade goodies: pancakes, rusks, preserves and fresh baked bread, freshly squeezed juice (in season).
Guests are invited to enjoy the flood-lit pool area with sun-loungers, tables and chairs. They may also use the BBQ/braai. Utensils, glasses, crockery and cutlery are provided.
The Potting Shed Guest House is ideally situated in a quiet side-street off Hermanus Main Road. Come and explore our town centre, restaurants, cliff paths and sea, all just a short walk away.

Area Information:One hour, 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. 5 minute walk to cliff path & sea. 10 minute walk to town centre where there is an abundance of art galleries & restaurants, & small shopping mall. Whale watching boat trips 1km away, 3kms to golf course, 5kms to Blue Flag Grotto Beach. Fernkloof Nature reserve is at the end of our street with main entrance 3kms from guest house. Shark cage diving & Betty's Bay penguins 40 minute drive. 5kms to Hermanus wine valley where there are 8 boutique wine estates.

Lovely place to stay, the host and her staff member is extremely professional and friendly. The room was very comfortable and neat. The highlight for me was the breakfast the next morning. The location is very good and close to restaurants. The only negative I have is that the parking is a bit tight when they are busy especially when you have a bigger vehicle.
A memorable and lovely experience. Walking distance from restaurants, craft market and the sea. We received great referrals for restaurants and what we can do during our stay. Due to Covid regulations, breakfast was served on our private deck. A special thank you to the kind lady who brought us our breakfast each morning! The hospitality was top-notch... We'll be back for the whale season!
Awesome place and very convenient
We loved our stay at The Potting Shed! The unit we stayed in was extremely clean, beautifully decorated and had everything one whole need for a quick break. A very pleasant 1km walk along the coast has you needing to decide which of the amazing selection of restaurants to chose from - fortunately, we had already booked at Bientangs Cave :) Breakfast was delicious and catered for different tastes with the most delicious home-made bread! A wonderful place to kick back, enjoy the sun and pool, or walk to the famous Hermanus boardwalk to enjoy the expansive ocean as you watch the sunset!

The accomodation is beautiful and ideal for a quiet get away .Loved this place and would recommend it to anybody .Really a home away from home .I will definitely be visiting again and again ......

Our family had a wonderful stay at their guest house, which accommodated our baby and toddler, providing a camp cot etc and their breakfast was AMAZING!!!
Hopefully we will be able to stay a bit longer next time we go to Hermanus as we wouldn't stay anywhere else.
