Welcome to Thumbi View Lodge.
Previously Steven’s guesthouse, this is the oldest lodge in Cape Maclear with visitors going back as far as the 1970’s.
After a face lift we now offer modern accommodation in Cape Maclear, kayaks, sunset cruises, stunning pool and ice cold cocktails.
With lake facing en-suite double / twin rooms which offer you a breath taking view of Lake Malawi as well as our surrounding islands.
Our dorms offer privacy, 3 x 4 sleepers, 1 x 3 Sleeper and 1 x 2 Sleepers, all en-suite, they are street facing.
On a bit of a budget bot not interested in a dorm? Try our courtyard facing en-suite double and twin rooms.
All rooms come equipped with fans, bedding as well as mosquito nets. The recently completed thatch roofs ensure your room stays cool and welcoming.
On site Cape Maclear scuba offers various PADI courses, from beginner to advance. They have modern equipment with qualified instructors with many years’ experience. Come experience crystal clear waters with over 850 fish species in Lake Malawi up close.
Cape Maclear is part of the Malawi National park, take a hiking trail with its abundance of bird life and flora or hire a bicycle and explore the village life, with its curious and day to day living of the villagers.
