Zandvlakte Guest Farm is a working farm situated within the Baviaanskloof Hartland Private Game Reserve, offering accommodation in old restored buildings, dating from 1811 to the late 1900s, on a fully equipped self-catering or a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
The lovely rooms and units are furnished with comfortable twin or single beds and private bathrooms with baths and showers. The self-catering units each have a kitchen that is equipped with a stove, fridge and microwave. The units have comfortable seating and free Wi-Fi is available. MTN mobile reception is available.
Communal dinners are served at the main homestead where all the guests share the dinner table. Traditional boerekos are served as three-course buffet meals. Fresh salads aren’t guaranteed as it is a luxury in this part of the world due to long distances from markets. It is imperative to book your meals in advance.
The lifestyle at Zandvlakte Guest Farm is informal, relaxed, barefoot, and quiet and a communal swimming pool is available at the homestead. Guests can enjoy the rural late nights around a fire, explore the walking, biking and hiking trails, and do bird watching. Zandvlakte Guest Farm is known for serenity at its wildest.

Home from home in the middle of the Baviaans !
Great location for exploring the Baviaanskloof nature reserve. Our cottage was spacious and comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and could happily have stayed longer. Pieter took us on a tour of the farm where he has planted several million spekboom to help preserve the environment. It was fascinating to see this.
Oh wow, what a super surprise, so warmly welcomed. The accommodation was more than we asked for. The host, Pieter, surprised us with his "green" projects and his willingness to share his knowledge. This is a highly recommend stay.... make time for at least 2 nights. Love loved it.
The farm is an extremely peaceful environment. The owners are very humble and kind. If you organise with them and at a very reasonable fee, you can enjoy a hearty home cooked meal at the main house that in my opinion, makes the whole stay at the farm an experience. It's a true gem set in a place where there's no need for more.
