Summer Place is situated directly on the main swimming beach, near to the well-renowned Pumula Beach Hotel, and boasts 4 self-catering, air-conditioned beach cottages.
Penthouse sleeps a maximum of 8 guests, Lookout is a 12 sleeper, Honeymoon can sleep 4 guest. Paradise can sleep 2 and Big Brother 2. All units are fully equipped, has dstv and aircon and gets serviced daily. Access to the beach is convenient via the beach gate and motor cars park on site behind big gates and high walls.
Summer Place is conveniently situated in the vicinity of several golf courses, with Umzumbe providing several water sport and recreational facilities as well.

It easily sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids.
It has beautiful finishes with a huge lounge and dining room.
The sliding doors with the wooden decks gives you the best view of the Umzumbe beach.
Lookout Cottage:
Lookout cottage can sleep 10 guests for example 6 adults and 6 children.
It has three bathrooms, dining room, lounge, kitchen, scullery and its own private deck and gate onto the beach.
Honeymoon Cottage:
Honeymoon cottage sleeps 4 guests; either 2 couples or a family.
It has a modern bathroom, lovely kitchen with modern fittings and a big lounge area.
Huge sliding doors makes your accessibility to the beach even easier.
Big Brother Cottage:
Big Brother cottage is not what the name implies.
It should be little brother as it sleeps 2 adults comfortably and has a sleeper couch.
It is ultra modern with the same accessibility to the beach and view as the other units.
Paradise is a lovely ground floor unit with a modern shower bathroom, a large king bedroom which is open plan with the lounge and a modern full kitchen. Big double doors open onto the little patio from where the sea views are spectacular.
Area Information:Approximately 90km south of Durban, between Hiberdene and Port Shepstone, you will find Umzumbe which is known as the best kept secret of the Hibuscus coast. Umzumbe is one of the few blue flag beaches left with permanent life guards on duty. Umzumbe is a small little town with good security and on weekends, the Rock pub plays live music. There is also a small church for Sunday service and ample space for the whole family to enjoy themselves. Fishing is from Stiebel rock and surfing is perfect in the warm Indian ocean. The tidal pool is a favourite with the little ones and the swimming beach is a true pleasure to enjoy.

Summer Place has the most beautiful views and friendly helpful staff.
The Penthouse was exceptional, comfortable and well furnished.

It was a very comfortable, well run place. The caretaker was extremely helpful and I would certainly recommend it to others.
My sisters with whom I was sharing the accommodation were very much impressed about the venue. They vowed to the caretaker - Eric, that they would definitely coming back.
Going to Umzumbe I did not know what to expect and arriving at the destination, the welcome I received from Eric was so warming and comforting, me feeling at home, the premises and facility was so amazing, i would gladly recommend this place to others and i will be back for many stays in the future.
