*RIVERSDALE has something for everybody and visitors are warmly welcomed by its friendly residents
*A flourishing country town situated on the N2 highway between the Langeberg mountain range and the sea, and within easy reach of surrounding towns
*Riversdale makes an ideal stopover or base for exploring the area.
*Riversdale's ideal location gives it the advantage of being within a few kilometres of seaside towns such as Still Bay and Witsand and also an excellent base for one-day trips to explore the variety of natural beauty, interesting places, charming 19th-century restored houses, breathtaking hiking trails and exquisite mountain scenery with activities such as 4x4 routes, abseiling alongside waterfalls, horseback safaris, hang gliding, fishing and water sports
*Nestled at the foot of the Sleeping Beauty mountain peak - a well-loved landmark which never fails to capture the imagination -Riversdale has earned its name of the Floral Paradise of the Garden Route because of the abundance of indigenous flora - referred to as Fynbos - which covers the mountains and surrounding areas. This floral rainbow is in full bloom throughout the winter months
*The bustling and expanding business centre with clustering of large chain stores and banks, services residents, shoppers from the surrounding towns and tourists.
*With farming being the main industry, activities include wheat and grain, fruit, cattle and dairy farming, sheep, ostriches, export flower farms and honeybush tea production. Riversdale has an all-year-round moderate climate with rainfall throughout the year

*Boosmansbos Wilderness Area lies in the beautiful Langeberg Mountains, over 14,000 hectares that is, in turn, part of the Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve. It is regarded as a hiker's domain, a great space in which to scale peaks to reach views that are virtually unsurpassable
*Garcia's Pass links the towns of Riversdale and Ladysmith in the Karoo. Back in the old days, the only route through the Langeberg Mountains was via the Plattekloof Pass, something of a detour for farmers who wanted to reach Riversdale and subsequently Mossel Bay for trade
*Garden Route Game Reserve situated in the heartland of the world-famous Fynbos Botanical Route, welcomes you to the majestic beauty that fauna and flora have to offer
*Come and view the Big Five (still in small family numbers) at Garden Route Game Reserve, in a malaria-free environment

*Lying in the heart of the Langeberg Mountains, roughly 22 kilometres north-west of Heidelberg in the Cape Overberg, Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve is exactly as its name denotes - a wonderful large section of forest - 250 hectares of the largest remaining example of indigenous forest in the Langeberg.
*The Swartberg Nature Reserve lies in the Oudtshoorn district between the Great Karoo and Little Karoo, bordered by the Gamka River in the west and the Uniondale / Willowmore Road in the east. The Swartberg Reserve encompasses 121,000 hectares of mostly state-owned land
