A peaceful well shaded resort situated halfway between Wilderness and Knysna on the shores of the Garden Routes only freshwater-lake Groenvlei. Groenvlei is a part of the Goukamma Nature Reserve and also part of the Knysna & Wilderness National Lakes Area & Garden Route National Park, the Goukamma Nature Reserve, on the Resorts eastern boundary, is over 2500 hectares or 50 square kms in extent.
Lake Pleasant has been managed and owned by the same family since 1962 and boasts the only camping resort along a bass fishing Lake in the Southern Cape. The Resort has a Squash Court as well as a Restaurant, Pub, Convenience Store, Take-Away, Bass Shop, Tennis Court, Mountain Bikes for hire, two Swimming Pools and safe swimming at the Resort's Lake Beach at Groenvlei. Lake Pleasant also offers rowing Boats and Canoes for hire, magnificent Bass Fishing, private mooring facilities should you bring your own craft, a large Games area and a self service Laundromat. The Sea with its 14 km stretch of golden-sanded Beach, the proclaimed Goukamma Marine Reserve, is just over the hill (3km), easily accessible by most vehicles.
The accommodation has proudly received a 3 star self-catering grading from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa annually since 2002.

very clean, calm and pleasant atmosphere, lots for the children to enjoy
Absolutely lovely! Attention to detail. Very pretty area. Awesome facilities. We stayed in a chalet, however we are excited to also camp at Lake Pleasant. Sedgefield is a beautiful area and Lake Pleasant is part of the unforgettable outdoor, laidback experience.
Tranquility were the order of the day.
Recommended to all.
Make sure you stay long enough. I had to leave far too soon.

Enjoyed everything, the slow pace, nature, canoeing on the lake. The stay at Lake Pleasant was awesome! Will definitely return for a longer stay.
