A lovely guest house in the quiet suburbs of Kimberley, just 2 km from the city centre and 5km from the airport. All important attractions and work places are close by. Ten guest rooms, each with queen-size bed, en-suite, satellite TV and WiFi. Four rooms have an extra single sofa bed and two rooms a bunk bed. 6 rooms are self-catering, four rooms have refreshment facilities only. Secure parking within fully enclosed grounds. All rooms have private entrances.
In Room Facilities:Rooms 1, 2, 7 & 8 are fully self catering. Queensize bed and single bed. Ensuite with WC and shower.
Rooms 9 & 10 have a bunk bed (2 single beds one above the other) in place of the single bed.
Executive Rooms 4 and 5 has a refreshment facility (kettle, microwave, fridge). Queensize bed, ensuite with WC, bath and shower.
Rooms 3 and 6 have a refreshment facility (kettle, microwave, fridge). Queensize bed. Ensuite shower.
All rooms have Satellite TV & WiFi.
Nestled between the historic suburbs of Beaconsfield, Herlear, Klisserville and Belgravia, halfway between Kimberley's historic "Big Hole" and "Du Toitspan" mines, "The Solomon" is a stone's throw from the boundary stone used by Cecil John Rhodes to mount his horse after a refreshing pint at "The Half", and the McGregor Museum which was his home during the Anglo-Boer War.

Secure car parking within the grounds. Access to some rooms is suitable for people with disabilities. There is a dipping pool during the summer months.
"The Solomon" is well situated for visitors to the Convention Centre, Big Hole, Diamondveld Battlefields Route, game farms, art gallery, museums, rock art centre, flamingo colony, casino and golf courses. If you don't feel like cooking, Kimberley offers some great local restaurants (Annabells, Lemon Tree, Butlers) as well as famous chain outlets (Ocean Basket, John Dory, Spur, McDonalds, Steers, KFC). You can choose to have breakfast at Mugg & Bean (either the Diamond Pavilion Mall or the North Cape Mall).

I enjoyed it, it was nice and quiet.

Clean and comfortable. Self catering. Prepare your food in a lovely large kitchen. Value for money. Walking distance to a very nice pub/restaurant. Don't get too excited about the swimming pool!. Still well worth the money.
I love space - no narrow walls or low ceiling and a king size bed. I got it all. In this spacious room there was (of course) a well equipped "kitchen" with both oven and micro wave oven, fridge and all other kitchenware you may want to use for cooking meals.
There is an option (when booking) to ask for a (cold) continental breakfast. I'd done so, but the lack of enthusiasm when I mentioned it resulted in cancelling that breakfast.
There is WiFi - but don't believe the code stated on the Free WiFi document put on the wall. It is not valid. You have to call to get the proper password.
Maybe due to the heavy rain and thunderstorm but the free WiFi was a short lived story.
