The farm consists of six spacious, self-catering accommodations surrounded by rolling green hills in summer and only a stone's throw from the snow-capped Drakensberg in winter. Rooms are ultra-comfy and all equipped with just the right amount of facilities including winter sheets and electric blankets.

Maclear is situated on the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg, Eastern Cape, South Africa, and is famous for its wild trout, Rock Art (San Paintings), dinosaur footprints, and spectacular scenery. Annual festivities include the Fees Zonder Naam (FZN), the Trout River Festival during April/May, and the Kapaailand Classic golf tournament in November.

I cannot express how wonderful our stay was. We have stayed in many guest houses and Fairbairn is a target they should strive for. Nothing is too much for Linky from outstanding accommodation to fantastic meals, all for good value. It is well worth the stay.
This is an exceptional guest farm and the accommodation is outstanding! I wish I could have spent more than just the one night. Great experience!
