Isandlwana & Rorkes Drift: Enjoy a day out on these two extraordinary battle sites. The battle of Isandlwana, where the British were defeated by 25 000 Zulus, will live forever in the annals of military history
*Cairns mark the places where British soldiers fell and were later buried
*Rorkes Drift reveals a gripping tale of 100 British soldiers repelling 4 000 Zulus, and despite overwhelming odds, stood victorious after twelve hours of fighting
*A record number of eleven Victoria Crosses were awarded to the defenders, the highest number of VCs ever awarded by Britain in one battle
*The Battle of Blood River Site
*A tragic story from 1838. Negotiations for land between the King of the Zulus (Dingane) and the Boer leader (Piet Retief) were unsuccessful, and due to misunderstandings, a group of 101 Voortrekkers were killed at Kwamatiwane (hill of execution)
*As a result, the Boers made a vow that if God grant them victory over the Zulus, they would build a church in thanksgiving and commemorate the event annually
*Later that month, 15 000 Zulus attacked 460 Voortrekkers at Blood River. The Boers were indeed victorious. Today, at the site of the Battle of Blood River, there is a stone memorial and striking replica of the Voortrekker laager (circle of wagons) cast in bronze
*A stone cairn marks the centre point of the laager, indicating the spot where the Covenant was made.
*Zulu Cultural areas
*This outing aims to give one a glimpse into the lives, homes and customs of the modern Zulu people. Spend a fascinating day out in Zululand visiting rural Zulu homesteads, chat with the residents via your experienced guide and be enlightened as to their way of life

Reviews
That was the best ever B&B, everything on point starting from the staff, rooms, restaurant etc - thanks, I also recommended a colleague to book the same place from Pretoria - which she did and was also happy about the place. Keep up the good work.
If I'm in the area The Lapha will always be my first choice. The environment is beautiful and the staff was helpful and friendly. If you should every stay there you must eat their delicious breakfast.
