Simple, clean and the most refreshing get away. Staff are efficient and friendly. Fresh bread awaits after a morning hike. Awesome escape from the urban rush!
Perfect place to relax and hike!
A lovely stay in a wonderful setting in a very comfortable cottage.
The setting is fantastic, the cottage is superb, the service and help were great. Can only recommend it!
We have just returned for an amazing trip to Giants Cup Reserve. The spectacular view that greets you as you arrive, sets the tone for the rest of your stay. We stayed in a little thatched cottage called Fishermans Cottage, set in among the Pine trees. The tranquility of the place is a great setting for some real R and R. Both Wolf and Jack Avni were so welcoming and very interesting to talk to about life on the reserve and running a trout farm. We enjoyed fresh trout for dinner straight from the hatchery, a meal fit for a king. Morning runs, paddles on the boat, fly fishing, walks around the farm, fireplace, red wine and of course a braai. A little bit of paradise preserved in time. Thank you to all at Giants Cup. We will definitely be back.
What a gorgeous location. Not too far from Underberg is this fantastic farm. Unbelievable views and the setting is just the best. We stayed in the Lakeside Cottage that is nestled in the pine trees and overlooks the magnificent lake. Fishing was not the best as trout had just spawned and were hiding but definitely worth the trip!
Love love love the peace and tranquility! Great getaway from the city. Great accommodation, stunning views - good for the soul!
A beautiful, isolated setting away from the madding crowd. The wind blowing through the pine trees at night was the perfect way to fall asleep. Amazing views of the lake which settles in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains. You can hear the sounds of all sorts of wildlife at night in the stillness. It’s also really close to the Underberg town centre so you can stock up on supplies. Very friendly and informative staff and hosts who are always nearby if you need help. Our wood was restocked and cottage cleaned daily. We also received complimentary bread fresh from the oven, plus trout pate from the hatchery.
Beautiful scenery, great fishing.
Breathtaking view.
If you are looking for tranquility, this is the place!
This is the most incredibly beautiful setting you could wish for - the view is incomparable - accommodation very comfortable and the hiking great. We had a glorious time - although the road to the reserve is a little challenging for an ordinary vehicle, we found it close to all the places we wanted to visit - we did Sani Pass, Kenmo lake, Sani spoors cycling and Garden Castle hikes easily - fantastic stay!

Amazing hospitality. Everything you need and more. Tasteful and comfortable. Loved feeding the animals. Beautiful outdoor area and scenery. Wallk down to the river.
Will definitely come back.
Mountain views and the breath of fresh air
It's far enough away from all the hubub to really feel like you're away from it all but also has a lot available to do if you so wish. The scenery is beautiful and the air is fresh!
Hiking, swimming, relaxing.
If you're in to adventure, then Underberg is the place to visit. There's no shortage of trails for running, hiking and mountain biking. It's close to the Drakensberg and Sani Pass.
Breath-taking beautiful! Well stocked convenience store (Elands Rest) and a few nice restaurants to have coffee. Just very cold, even in Nov.
Scenery in the surroundings.
For us its all about the hiking in the mountains.
Scenery!!
Beautiful part of the country!!
