The house has one en suite bedroom with a double bed and a cot. The two other bedrooms (one with double bed, the other with two singles) and another little room with one bed, share the second bathroom. In the morning you will wake to the sounds of a farm: a crowing cock, bleating sheep, and hadidas and guinea fowl greeting the new day. If this is the life style you enjoy, we extend a warm welcome to you here at Oude Tol.
Following the path next to the trees for about 100 meters one finds the new guest house on top of a grassy slope.
It is build in a U-shape with many windows to allow a view in all directions.
In the middle we have the open plan living area, with fully equipped kitchen, dining table and lounge area, also equipped with TV and a lovely fire place.
To the left as well as to the right there are each two double bedrooms with a bathroom in between.
The living area has a large glass door opening unto a wooden deck, where one can enjoy the morning colours while having that first cup of coffee. The sheep press out of the kraal, the milking cow comes into the milkshed, and the chicken houses are opened up.

The most beautiful place EVER! My dogs, dad and us enjoyed every minute. The place is clean, spacious and the best value for money I've ever experienced.
This was our second stay and we will definitely be going back. Lovely cozy farm stay with friendly and helpful hosts. Dankie Hadi! 💜
I liked the fact that it wasn't far.
Cottage is nice and private. Everything you need is provided. The views breath taking. Will definitely be going back.
Perfect location on a tranquil farm. Our host was warm and friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The Harmony unit is surprisingly spacious and has everything you could want or need. Best part was the fire place! And that it all ran on solar so we hardly noticed the load shedding. As soon as the water pressure problem is sorted, we will be back!
Great farmstay outside of town. House was huge and great for a large family or group. Great for a short stay or weekend getaway.
We had a lovely stay at Oude Tol Farm. It is rustic but comfortable and we were provided with clean bedding and towels and we had a beautiful shady tree to sit under near the braai.

Our second visit and certainly not the last. So much to do and see!
Scenery
Wine, scenery, sunset
Beautiful, historic and quaint little town. Stroll down church street and have a roosterkoek at Kole & Deeg. Highly recommend the Gin Yard at Vindoux wine farm. The Spar gets ridiculously busy on long weekends so rather come prepared unless you want to stand in line for 30 mins. The Tulbagh Nursery is awesome if you’re into gardening and plants. And take the Bain’s Kloof pass if you want a beautiful scenic route!
The quaint town, the beautiful scenery, the olive tasting.
Everything!
Wine, the history side.
We found Tulbagh to be close enough to Cape Town for a quick weekend away with family & friends.
Clean town with stunning wine farms, wine tasting and lovely restaurants.
Very picturesque with great hiking, mountain biking trails.
Lots of convenient shops in the town.
Can't wait for our next visit.
We loved our Sunday lunch at Tulbagh Hotel and Champagne tasting at Krone.
We went to Essere lodge for a weekend and loved it! Have done many wine tastings at the surrounding farms, love going there often.
