Rob's Place offers guests the best of two worlds: at this self-catering or B&B accommodation venue , you'll be only minutes away from every facility in Potchefstroom, yet able to enjoy a relaxed, warm, country atmosphere.
In Room Facilities:All our rooms have double beds, en-suite bathrooms, air cons, Wireless internet, Ironing facilities and Open View HD Tv.
The adjoining kitchenettes have a small lounge and breakfast nook with all basic appliances, crockery and cutlery. Both electric and gas stoves, fridges and microwaves are installed throughout the kitchens.
Area Information:Lying on the banks of the Mooirivier (which means 'beautiful river' in Afrikaans) Potchefstroom, or Potch as it's known to locals, is described as a large academic town, bringing to mind a pretty, tree-lined village teeming with students, which is slightly misleading. Potchefstroom is indeed home to the popular North-West University, formerly known as the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, that does have a buzzing student life â?? the Bult, a series of restaurants and pubs, is testimony to this.

The OPM Prozesky bird sanctuary is home to 200 different bird species, Buffelsvlei Wild Animal park is definitely worth a visit, and a monthly art market in the City Council gardens provides interesting purchases. Potchefstroom is also situated close to the Vredefort Dome. The Vredefort Dome is the biggest meteorite impact site that geologists have yet found on Earth and it is nearly twice as big as the impact that killed the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. This makes it a site of great importance for scientists. It is also the oldest impact crater that has been found on earth. It is mainly for these reasons that it has been made a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It was a good budget stay. The room is spacious and clean. The furniture are old, but functional. Only suggestion is to have amenities available
I paid for aircon but it was not working. The place was very cold.

Ons het ge arriveer en is verwelkom deur die vriendelike Monica. Binne minute is die papierwerk afgehandel en ons na ons kamer geneem wat baie netjies en skoon is. Ons het ons verblyf daar geniet, kan dit ten sterkste aanbeveel en sal beslis weer daar gaan slaap. 'n Rustige omgewing wat aan al ons behoeftes voldoen het. Giep en Rinie Hill
