Reviews
I have a transport company and drove from Pretoria to Ficksburg, OFS with a client, only to get lost in Meqheleng township, Ficksburg when she forgot where she stayed, as it was dark and everything looked the same to her.
After a real frightful experience, we got her home safe.
After delivering her furniture, I had to drive out of there, alone, and with no GPS assistance, after 12 o' clock at night, a stranger to that place.
After about an hour, I managed to get myself out of there and was en-route to IMLA guest farm. However, I only arrived there at 02h00 in the morning after having a great deal of difficulty and confusement with my GPS.
Eventually I was helped by 2 friendly and helpful Ficksburg SAPD member, who drove in front of me, nearly all the way there, to make sure I was safe and on the correct road to the farm.
The gravel road to the farm was quite a challenge, as it was already very early in the morning and very dark outside.
I was doing bundu bashing and at some places it was quite bad, as farm roads usually are in the rural areas. (4x4 guys will love it however)
Although they were already asleep, the staff got up to receive me with a warm, friendly welcome. As it was during a quiet time of the month, I was the only guest staying over, and I was accommodated in a very luxurious room with a very good quality bed and hot blanket, as it was quite cold that time of the morning.
After a well deserved rest I felt refreshed the next morning, and woke to the beautiful sereneness of the beautiful East Free state countryside.
As I opened the beautiful curtains, I was delighted to see the lush, well kept gardens and stunning sandstone formations behind the beautiful old farmhouse.
The staff were already busy from very early that morning and the smell of delicious scones filled the air as I entered the dining area.
They were very friendly and accommodating and treated me like a king.
I had my breakfast outside under a beautiful, giant oak tree with a delightfulll view on the sandstone koppie behind the house.
It was delicious and I left, feeling refreshed and sorry to leave so soon.
As I drove out of the gate, I was surprised to see a troop of ground squirrels doing their thing, basking in the early morning sun.
One sat upright and looked at me very attentively, as if to say: Go well, drive safely and hopefully we will see you again very soon.
I have a feeling he was right.
Beautiful scenery, lovely rooms and a happy, welcoming host and hostess. Sunset and sheep make a happy combination! We were treated exceptionally well, and thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. We may well be tempted to stay a bit longer next time.
Excellent value for money with a real farm atmosphere with friendly staff and good quality food and drinks. Thank you for a pleasant stay. See you again soon.

Just to tour, view the place.
Serene beauty of the countryside and warm hospitality of its people.
Scenery was beautiful as well as the interesting tour of the shop where essential oils produced by the farm are sold.
