Area Information:Buccleuch is a suburb of Sandton, in the Gauteng province of South Africa. The name comes from the combination of two of its suburbs, Sandown and Bryanston. In 1969 Sandton was promulgated as a municipality in its own right, but lost its status as an independent town after the re-organisation of South African local governments. Sandton is rated an affluent area in Johannesburg and South Africa, and therefore in Africa. This is evidenced by the Leonardo which at 234m is Africa’s tallest building, The 140-metre tall Michelangelo Towers is the fifth tallest , and purports to offer Manhattan-style apartment living in Johannesburg with reports that the top-selling penthouse apartment was sold for R28 million (around $4 million).
Property Facilities:There is much to do at eMzini; take refreshing walks over the grounds; an impressive variety of birds can be identified on the property and from the Bloubos bird hide adjacent to the Jukskei River; for those who cannot stay away from working up a sweat there is also a small fitness centre available 24 hours a day; Imbizo is a bushveld style boma (enclosure) overlooking the Jukskei River which by prior arrangement you are welcome to use for a traditional braai (barbecue) on a boma fire; an equipped conference facility with seating arrangements for 7 persons set up for video conferences is available at additional cost
Attractions:Much of Johannesburg's business tourism is centred on Sandton. One of the main attractions is Sandton City, which ranks among the largest shopping centres in Africa which together with Nelson Mandela Square, boasts 144,000 m2 of shopping space and is one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Close by is the modern Mall of Africa. Other attractions to visit in Sandton are Monte Casino, Sandton Convention Centre and Gallagher Estate. Gold Reef City entertainment and historical gold mine complex, nearby Apartheid museum, World of Beer, Walter Siszulu Botanical Gardens, the Cradle of Human Kind world heritage site to name a few, are some of the many note worthy attractions.
