Welcome to Hermitage Huisies Aardvarks Burrow & Guinea Fowl,
Hermitage Huisies is nestled in the picturesque Hermitage Valley, just 2 km outside of Swellendam, next door to pretty berry farms and at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains. The accommodation on offer comprises farm-style, self-catering cottages.
Aardvarks Burrow:
Very spacious studio offering lovely views and attached to Guinea Fowl cottage. This cottage comprises a living and sleeping area furnished with a queen-size bed and 200 thread-count linen provided as well as an extra length single daybed with pull out single bed. The unit features a private kitchen with two plate gas stove and full fridge/freezer and a bathroom fitted with a always warm water gas shower. The cottage presents a covered patio at the front and a private built in covered braai area at the back. Other facilities include free Wi-Fi and a TV and indoor combustion stove. This unit can accommodate 3 single adults in the same room or adults with kids. Ask about adding a woodfired hot tub!
Guinea Fowl:
Beautiful spacious studio flat offering lovely views of the mountains, horses, green pastures and guinea fowl, it is ideal for 1 person or a couple. The cottage would be ideal for larger parties when renting out both Guinea Fowl and Aardvarks Burrow cottages. Guinea Fowl comprises an open-plan living and sleeping area with a private kitchen with full fridge/freezer and two plate gas stove and a bathroom fitted with a spacious always warm water gas geyser shower. The unit is furnished with a queen-size bed with pocket spring mattress and white 200 thread-count linen. Other facilities include free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV and a combustion fireplace. Guests have access to a built-in braai as well. Ask about adding a woodfired hot tub.

Minimum stay: 2 nights during School / Public Holidays Toddlers(0-2): R80/night Camping cot can be provided Children(2-12): R100/night Children above 12 charged at full price. No smoking in the houses. Hermitage Huisies have many animals including dogs, horses, geese, chickens and bees. We also have a dam and swimming pool. So please take care and note that you enter our property at own risk.

Dankie vir ons heerlikke oorslaap in Aardvark. Jul hartlike ontvangs, die genot om met n koffie en beskuit die son se laaste strale teen die Langeberge (van ons stoep af) te bewonder en die sit en droom terwyl n worsie met die kole gesels, het ons batterye weer gelaai vir die nuwe kwartaal. Sterkte met jul onderneming. Daar is min plekke wat met jul netjiese huisies, lieflike omgewing en billike prys kan meeding.
A gem located next to beautiful horses
It was a very nice and spacious cottage with a nice sitting area in the front. We felt very comfortable and have been given helpful advice about where to have dinner. Nadia was very nice and helpful and I could even borrow her blow dryer in the late evening. Right next door is a berry farm which offers liquor and jam tasting but was unfortunately closed on Sunday. We would definitely recommend this place and would have liked to stay longer than just for one

We showed up to Swellandam late & without a place to stay and Nadia was very welcoming. She gave us the Guinea Fowl cottage, which had just been built and had everything we needed: hot shower with good water pressure, great little kitchen with an induction hot plate (first time using one, and it was terrific), a beautiful braai, and a nice bed. And can't forget the horses drinking outa bathtubs in our backyard. Finally, It's only a 5 min drive from Marloth reserve and we had an lovely hike/run i

La Belle Alliance restaurant is AMAZING for breakfast!
I enjoyed Aan De Eike Guesthouse, My room were clean and the service were excellent.I felt very safe enjoyed every moment since I arrived. Swellendam is beautiful with most beautiful views. The location was very convenient and would recommend The Republican Restaurant. The food and vibe were awesome. It's safe to walk in Swellendam, what a beautiful place for entertainment

Scenery, the residents, the roads are in great condition (compared to many many many other towns/cities in SA).
Wildebraam Estate. Friendly people. No traffic. Has all the shops and places one needs.
