Fitted with period furniture the exquisitely refurbished Manor House at Weltevreden Estate offers guest accommodation at a world-class standard.
There are four elevated bed chambers upstairs under a cosy thatched roof. Our beautiful self-catering 2-bedroom farm cottage is the perfect place to unwind over a weekend or for long-term travel accommodation during your visit to the Winelands. Our newly renovated, River Cottage is tastefully decorated and very spacious, situated on the edge of the river.

Area Information:Stellenbosch is South Africa's second oldest town after Cape Town and is the sentimental heart of the Winelands. Lined with shady oaks and beautiful gabled, white-washed buildings, the streets of Stellenbosch still have small irrigation channels on either side of the older roads. In the past, these were used to water gardens, as each householder had a time slot in which to divert the town's irrigation into their plot.

We stayed at the river cottage. The cottage is not so private as we in the beginning were thinking. It's exactly near the guard station. but in generally we really enjoyed our stay at Weltevreden Retief Residence and would suggest it also to others. plus the breakfast was really really good :)
