Hanover is a quaint little Karoo town with houses from eras long gone. It was once the residence of the famous South African writer Olive Schreiner. Her house, her cottage and her husband's office are all still there.
The town has a spring, which was walled during the Boer war. From Trappieskop, one can have a helicopter view of Hanover and its surroundings. Furthermore, Hanover houses one of the most beautiful churches in South Africa. The church is open for visitors prior to appointment.
The local museum gives you a good impression of how the people lived about 150 years ago.
Attractions include: birding, hiking, mountain biking, visiting church, relaxing
Donkey cart trips and picnics can be organised (booking in advance compulsory).

Perfect stay & very hospitable staff. Issac did himself proud.
What a wonderful overnight stay! Friendly host that welcomes you. There are dinner and breakfast options available and safe parking for your vehicle. The rooms are comfortable and clean. A true gem in the Karoo and we highly recommend it.
A comfortable, old world charm. All the conveniences available and working well: hot water, comfortable beds, good reading lamps, DSTV that works, in-house food available.
Accommodation was perfect but dinner expensive and not enough!
Wow! Wow! Wow! This place is awesome!! Hannah, your hospitality was out of this world. And the food? Couldn’t be better. Such a jewel in the Karoo and a perfect stop-over. WE will definitely see you again and again!!

Very nice
Magical Hanna is SUCH an asset to the beautiful guesthouse, busy with everyone at once, calling to ensure our arrival time, wishing us a safe drive, do we want dinner. I cannot wait to return with family to share this piece of magic. What a pity that the Hanover residents cannot be called to action to clean up their little town which could be the jewel of the Karoo. The chronic quantities of plastic are shocking and pitiful. But the guest house is an oasis.
