Set in the beautiful bushveld of the Natal Midlands, 10kms from Estcourt and the N3; Slievyre - A private nature reserve provides the perfect place for family reunions, quiet holidays, romantic getaways or just an overnight stop
The camp is situated in one hectare of fenced mature lawned gardens and consists of five traditionally built stone and thatch chalets.
The camp comfortably sleeps twenty four people. Four of the chalets are twin/double, one sleeps three people with the fifth being a nine bed family chalet. All have private/en-suite shower rooms and the kitchens are equipped with all self-catering facilities.
Fresh bedding and towels are provided for every guest and the chalets are cleaned daily. Two lapa adjoin the chalets, both have tables and chairs and built-in braai area, they are cleaned daily and the firewood is restocked
Slievyre extends to 2 000ha, and is classified as bushveld. Whilst out walking or driving on the farm, animals you will encounter include Giraffe, Kudu, Waterbuck, Zebra, Wildebeest and numerous smaller antelope. The farm is also home to more than 200 species of birds.
Guests are welcome to fish free of charge, just bring your tackle. All residential guests are welcome to join us for a game drive.
On Slievyre we have swimming pool with adjoining children’s pool, walking trails, fishing, bird watching, game drives, 4x4 trails, jungle gym, night drives, board games, quad trails, camping, lawn games and TV/DVD film library.
Nearby places to visit is Weenen Game Reserve 15 km, The Battlefields 45 km, and Central Drakensberg g 50 km, Midlands Meander 45 km, Howick Falls 75 km, Wagendrift Dam 15km and Fort Durnford 10 km.

The best place ever,we really enjoyed our stay.the kids were in heaven n they cont stop talking about the place.the service is excellent and the place is always clean.we will be seeing u guys soon.we have no problems with the place.happy happy happy
OMG!! We had such a wonderful 2 nights stay with our UK relative at Slievyre-we loved our chalets with the very well equipped Safari style Lapa area-little things done-flowers in the chalet, ice in the freezer, bottled water and replenished firewood daily-just amazing service from the staff-all is kept clean, neat and tidy throughout the day.
The game drives with our informative driver were such a treat for our UK relative-there was an abundance of wildlife to be seen. Being able to hike through the game farm was a huge plus, we thoroughly enjoyed the freedom of the game farm and on returning had a relaxing afternoon swimming and enjoying the amazing views from the swimming pool.
We cannot fault this little Gem we have found and can't wait to take other friends and family to visit, but next time for a longer stay.
You will not be disappointed in staying at Slievyre.

An absolutely awesome place. The place was immaculate and the views stunning. The game drive was the highlight of the weekend.
We had a wonderful stayover, chalet was clean and had everything we needed. It was so peaceful and quiet and we saw a lot of different wild animals . Host was very friendly and the farm is pet friendly as well.
All in all an excellent rating.
This is the second time we have had the privilege of staying at this beautiful Game Farm, and again it definitely didn't disappoint and we hope to be back often.
The grounds are well kept and watching the early morning sunrise surrounded by animals, is such a blessing too few are able to experience.
Also, the staff, from the management, to the housekeepers and groundsmen are friendly and efficient.

My OH My was this an exquisite visit, amazing experience in a total. We experienced the utmost bliss of nature with the silence being muffled with various species of birds chirping away. For a romantic get away or just to unwind we certainly recommend Slievyre by far. And ever got to a self-catering lodge and could kick yourself for forgetting something, don't worry they have you covered, I have never come across such a well equipped self-catering lodge in my life!!!

Yes a peaceful atmosphere well kept gardens the distant view of the Drakensberg made it an enjoyable stay. Very well stocked self catering Lapa and plenty bushveld firewood. I will return and have recommended the property to all I chat to.
Aangename, vriendelike mense. Mense altyd gewillig om te help. Verblyf was sorgeloos. Genoeg hout wat verniet was. Sal weer hier kom bly.
