Die Ou Kliphuisie is an self-catering holiday home equipped with an outdoor shower and an indoor one. Reeds and poplar beams were used to construct the ceiling. The house comes equipped with old iron beds with wonderful new mattresses to ensure a good night's sleep. The lovely indoor stone fireplace can double as a braai facility during those cold winter nights. In fair weather guests can spend their evenings next to the outdoor braai facility and savour the splendour of the star-crowded Karoo sky. The little house is resourcefully furnished: like the kitchen zinc made from an old copper geyser, everything is handmade. The wash stand is an old wine vat and the shower heads are made from the old copper balls that formed part of trough valves.

We really loved this character full guest house. Very comfortable and the indoor fireplace which drew very well was perfect for the cold weather. We also found the hosts very hospitable.

What a wonderfully remote, warm, welcoming little stone house on an expansive farm in the Northern Cape Karoo, just outside Carnarvon! Natasha and Stegmann have restored an old Stonehouse with quaint features to create a comfortable home away from home. The beds were comfortable. The linen and bathroom were clean. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and crockery to enable any kind of meal prep. We are vegetarian, so we were aware that a lot of karoo lamb had been enjoyed in the house as the smell of cooked meat was noticeable. Stegmann had offered us some lamb chops to braai for dinner. The garden is picturesque and there are paths which enable lovely long walks in the peaceful surroundings. Our four medium sized dogs enjoyed the exploring, but we were careful to be aware of the sheep that roam the farm. All in all, a wonderful stay and we'll be back.
Osfontein is a real paradise in the middle of the Karoo. The stars!!! We had two wonderful nights on the arm and Natasha and Stegman were fantastic hosts. Wish we had stayed longer! Thank you for a wonderful time.

What an amazing experience!! The cold pool after 8 hours in the car. The beautiful Kliphuis had everything we needed. One night is just not long enough! The stars at night, wonderful!!
Die kliphuis was een van die aangenaamste verassings en -ervarings ooit. Beslis op ons 'gaan terugkom' lysie. Alles is so outentiek en spesiaal. Heerlike beddens en linne; spesiale kampvuur kuier. Stegmann en Natascha het 'n juweel van 'n plaas en gaste-eenhede!
Ons is vreeslik vriendelik ontvang (ook deur die skaaphonde!) en die Kliphuisie het regtig alle verwagtinge oortref. Die aandag aan detail in die dekor en hoe die geskiedenis van die gebou vasgevang is was regtig iets besonders. Alles wat ons nodig gehad het in die huisie, volgende keer bly ons definitief langer!
