Beautiful decor compliments the historic antique furniture (some with an interesting story to tell) and most rooms open onto the sun-drenched patios and balconies facing glorious views of the fertile valleys and jagged mountain ranges. Great cuisine, cosy in winter and cool in summer, with warm hospitality all year round, Inkungu Lodge is a must for the discerning traveler.
In Room Facilities:All of the rooms are air-conditioned and en-suite with private shower and baths (include bathroom amenities). They all have tea/coffee, hair dryer and dressing gowns as well as personal TV and DSTV. Each room opens on to a personal balcony or poolside/garden patio with lovely views.
The 2 deluxe suites (Presidential and Honeymoon) have extra room with a personal lounge and bar area each, containing a mini-fridge. An antique desk and chair in the Presidential Suite.
Central Drakensberg is rich in activities for the young and old, sporty and sedentary. The foothills of the beautiful mountain ranges provide rivers and dams for fishing and water sports, hiking, trail riding, golfing and good family entertainment. Home to the world renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir School, the Drakensberg Canopy Tour, (longest and highest in Africa) Champagne Sports Resort championship golf course, renowned artists and interesting history, the Central Drakensberg provides an absorbing artsy meander.
Property Facilities:Inkungu Lodge is situated in a secure estate. Plenty of free parking.The five common lounges contain a library, a conference room, a TV with full DSTV bouquet and an indoor/outdoor well stocked bar linking the poolside patios to the downstairs lounge. The intimate, pretty dining room is connected via an open fireplace to the reception lounge. Inkungu Lodge is renowned for good cuisine. A sparkling rimflow pool is available to the Lodge guests for a cool dip, and the dam at the bottom of the estate is available for fly fishing on a "catch and release" basis.
