Situated in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, just 400 m from Shelly Beach in Port Alfred, Spinning Reel offers a restful, comfortable and secluded holiday break for families, romantic getaways, or a re-charging stopover for the weary traveller.
Strategically placed amongst the natural dune vegetation to ensure each unit's privacy, guests have a choice of 2-sleeper rooms and 6-sleeper cottages and chalets with views of the garden or ocean.
The cosy cottages each have 2 bedrooms with double, single or bunk beds and have bathrooms with baths and showers. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove and oven, microwave and the cottages open to a patio and braai facilities are available.
Guests can book the top or the ground floor 2-sleeper bed and breakfast double rooms, each with a private entrance and opening onto a deck overlooking the ocean. The room is furnished with a double bed and has an en-suite shower-only or full bathroom. Guests staying in these rooms can book breakfast on request, and each of the rooms has a kitchenette with tea and coffee facilities and a bar fridge.
Enjoying lovely views, the multi-storey log chalets are perfect for 6, offering 2 rooms and a loft room. Furnished with double, single and sofa beds, the chalets have 2 bathrooms with baths and showers. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with a stove and oven, microwave, and a dining area. The lounge has comfortable seating and opens onto a deck, and braai facilities are available.
The exquisite multi-storey, Vermon-style chalet can accommodate 6 people and offers 3 bedrooms furnished with double and single beds, sharing 2 bathrooms with baths and showers. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove and oven, microwave, fridge, tea and coffee facilities and meals can be enjoyed at the dining table. The lounge has comfortable seating and opens onto a deck with a beautiful sea view.
Bedding, a TV with Netflix and Wi-Fi access, are provided for all the units and guests please need to bring their own towels, toiletries and matches for all, except the bed and breakfast rooms. Guests have access to the shared garden, tennis court, and private beach, and parking is available on the premises.

My husband and I spent 3 nights in a beach cottage at Spinning Reel. Comfortable, with basic necessities. Close to beach - must mention that a climb up and over the dune is involved! Secure - electric fencing around property and access gate to beach. Lovely beach, tidal pool and lovely rock pools. Would recommend to anyone for a reasonable getaway place. Kim and Steve were very helpful.

Wooow I had the best time there. The reception lady was also friendly. What I love the most was the peace and the privacy we had. It was like we were in a big jungle all alone with beautiful views, the lovely big trees all around, the sound of the sea waves, wooow we got there with only our bags which was a good thing cause the cottage had everything from the pots, the blankets, to the glass wines etc. We got more than we paid for. I miss that place. We really felt at home. Cant wait to go back there again. Thank you.
