Located just outside of Lydenburg, serenely settled on an escarpment overlooking the magnificent Mpumalanga mountains, Mount High Country Estate comprises an elegant Manor House, six stylish Luxury Stable Rooms, an events venue and acres of lush gardens. The farmstead rests on over a thousand hectares of rugged mountain wilderness with an abundance of hiking and running trails, and scenic picnic spots, where the antelope and small game freely roam. Ideal for multigenerational family gatherings and celebrations, the estate can accommodate as many as 26 guests. The homestead may be rented exclusively to incorporate the Manor House, and individual stable rooms, or independently from each other. The property lends itself either as a fully self-catering establishment with daily housekeeping, or with a private chef to add to the unique experience.
The Manor House
The Manor House features an expansive open-plan kitchen, dining and entertaining space with large fireplaces, contemporary furnishings and quality kitchenware. Four generous ensuite bedrooms, an adjoining bunk room and separate cosy TV room sit around the living areas. An infinity swimming pool rests on a large deck with sun loungers and comfy outdoor seating. A two-bedroomed ensuite cottage with a small kitchen station, games room and large bar area sits adjacent to the Manor House. The Manor House and cottage can only be rented as one unit.
The Luxury Stable Rooms
The Luxury Stable Rooms feature a communal kitchen and TV room, six individual ensuite rooms wich once housed the Arabian horses that still roam freely in the farm's paddocks. The suites are romantic and rustic with all of the finer luxuries included in the interiors, providing an authentic equestrian ambience to the overall experience. They are ideally suited to travellers exploring the famous Panorama Route, seeking nature trails or stopping over en route to the Kruger National Park. Should the Stable Rooms be booked independently from the Manor House, guests will not have access to the facilities of the Manor House, including the swimming pool, main kitchen, living and entertaining areas.
An additional note for all guests travelling from Lydenburg to the estate:
• A 4x4 vehicle is not a necessary requirement, but higher vehicles able to tackle the dirt roads is strongly advised.
Each house has its own top-notch amenities and charm.
Area Information:The farm and its surrounds provide a multitude of things to do and see. There are many well-established mountain biking trails on the farm and in the mountains, as well as walking trails and hikes.
Property Facilities:Egyptian cotton linen, swimming pool, barbecue area, and satellite televisions combine to create a truly spectacular getaway; no matter the occasion.

We had a fabulous time at the house... We booked the main lodge... It was spectacular... The cleanliness was on a high.the pictures don't do justice enough. This place is to die for,,, high 5 to Ronel and the staff... Keep up the great work... What I love mostly about the place is there is everything u could never imagine to find at a self catering place... From spices yo all kinds of coffee and tea... Amazing
Spent 3 nights at this 5 star place. Spacious, brand new, modern free-standing home with all the luxuries. Excellent service from our host and staff, with delicious breakfasts from the chef. The location is beautiful. You will need an off-road vehicle to get to the lodge, but absolutely worth it and should not be a deterrent. Would have happily spent another week here- we will be back!
