Fairview Cottages is situated just 120 metres from the town square where a selection of restuarants and coffee shops are located plus the famous Clarens Brewery which serves craft beer. Browse the art galleries stocked with local and national artwork. Also nearby is a superette, ATM, braai shop plus Bibliophile, the well known bookshop.
In the opposite direction, 40m from the gate are a number of walks in nature. Stroll along the river or summit the mountain for breath taking views that stretch to the Maluti Mountains. Golden Gate National Park is 20km away and renowned for its sandstone rock formations and hiking routes.

We had a lovely stay at Fairview Cottages. Brenda and George made us feel right at home.
We had a wonderful time. The cottage was clean and everything we needed. Close to the shops and restaurants. The hosts were friendly and informative. Would definitely recommend it!

Ons het baie lekker gebly by Fairview Cottage. Die plek was baie skoon en netjies. Als is daar wat mens nodig het. Dit is loopafstand vanaf die dorp. Sal enige tyd weer teruggaan en sal Fairview Cottage beslis aanbeveel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fairview Cottages in Clarens. It is a beautiful cottage - very clean and comfortable. I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone wishing to visit Clarens. We loved staying there, it is close to all the shops and activities.

Love the mountains for a nice hike.
A variety of restaurants and shops to explore.
We love exploring Golden Gate, wondering through the shops in the Town and visiting our favourite Clarens Brewery. We enjoy supporting the smaller farm restaurants in the area. Highland Brew was a lovely new addition to this trip.
Variety
Main roads to town are recommended for daylight use only. Small town atmosphere but with a wide variety of activities and stores. The annual Titanic Challenge Trail Run was my main attraction - stunning views!
Everything....food, quality of shops...felt safe...clean...friendly people....
Love all the shops and restaurants there is. Surrounded by mountains. Perfect breakaway for winter or summer.

Small, quaint, but very lively little town with spectacular views all around. Hiking is a must and can be done on the edge of town. We stayed at Views and the hiking trail was on our back door. Beautiful, beautiful little town offering great food, culture, entertainment and beautiful hiking trails.
