TANAGRA is an idyllic wine farm close to McGregor. We offer comfortable accommodation in well appointed guest cottages, and produce handcrafted wines in a boutique wine cellar and stylish Grappa and Eau de Vie in our boutique distillery. Faraway (3) Faraway is an eco cottage (off the grid) built on the most solitary spot of the farm - just fynbos, mountains, endless skies, and silence. It combines the traditional features of a Cape Langhuis with an eco-friendly (off the grid) and modern design (large panorama windows & doors). Private plunge pool.

Hill Cottage (1) Romantic and private one bedroom cottage, sitting alone on a hill, surrounded by indigenous fynbos and overlooking the Tanagra vineyards with breathtaking views into the McGregor and Robertson valley. Private plunge pool (heatable as 'hot tub').

Loft Studio (2) This spacious one bedroom studio is located above the Tanagra winery (81sqm in size, incl. considerable roof slope). The highlight is a spacious and sunny wooden deck providing scenic views on the mountains, the beautiful farm dam and the vineyards. Pool in the garden.

TANAGRA is an idyllic wine farm close to McGregor and part of the Robertson Wine Route and Route 62. We offer comfortable accommodation in well appointed guest cottages, and produce handcrafted wines in a boutique wine cellar and stylish Grappa and Eau de Vie in our boutique distillery. An old wild fig tree gave the farm its name, 'Tanagra' - it echoes the Khoisan expression for a well-shaded place. This giant tree canopies the historic homestead and winery, providing welcoming shade during the hot days of summer.

The best thing to do is to simply rest and unwind with a good book and a glass of wine in the garden or on your stoep, and explore the farm for walks or to watch birds which are there in abundance. Tanagra farm is 78ha in size and for most parts accessible by various walking/hiking trails (also great for mountain-biking) ranging from a leisurely 10 minutes' walk to a couple of hours' hike. If you wish to be more active, there are a variety of activities to pursue. Wine & Grappa Tastings available at the farm.

Tanagra is situated in the McGregor/Robertson valley at the border of the Klein Karoo (Western Cape, South Africa), surrounded by vineyards, indigenous wild fynbos and mountains. Most of the 78ha farm is accessible by various walking/hiking trails (also great for mountain biking) with access into the Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve with longer bird-walks and mountain trails.
